education has been a vital part of the Hicks family for 22 years. It has
been a humbling opportunity and privilege to have been blessed to invest
our lives into those of our children: Krystin, Nathan, Isaac and Josiah.
Having homeschooled in four different states, my husband and I have served in various leadership roles. The Sunshine State has been our home for nine years. We have assimilated with new and veteran homeschooling families, and remained proactive in current and pending legislative movements regarding the rights of homeschoolers. Our student ranks have diminished by three, as the seasons of teaching have brought about high-school graduations, universities and individual paths for our three oldest. We look forward to the last era of our homeschooling adventure as our youngest becomes a high schooler. Parents choosing home education will find that the Sunshine State has the best platform to offer innovative means for implementing such an exciting educational choice. It's an honor to serve the families of District 11 and I look forward to "pressing on with the journey" as we work together in making the homeschooling adventure exciting, educational and edifying.
