Dancing Daughters of the King, Gainesville

  For girls in grades K5 through 3. For all little princesses who love to dance or have ever dreamt of becoming a ballerina one day, this fun-filled week will include basic 
instruction in classical ballet, jazz and creative movement, with a performance for family and friends on the final day of camp. In addition to dancing, each day will be filled with exciting dance-related crafts, children's ballet stories and snack activities. Come make a ribbon stick, see how a real ballerina dances on her toes, and hear a 
storyteller narrate classic children's ballets like "Sleeping Beauty" and "Nutcracker"! 

The class will be taught by Emily Davis, who has been dancing classical ballet, jazz and tap for 11 years, and is currently an apprentice with Gainesville's Dance Alive National Ballet. She has toured the Southeast performing in a number of children's ballets, including "Nutcracker," "Ladybug," "Robin Hood" and "Firebird." 

Students should wear comfortable dance clothing such as a leotard, tights and ballet slippers. Dance skirts or jazz pants are permitted. Hair should be pulled back from the face in a ponytail or bun. Please bring a water bottle each day. There is a $10 materials fee.

Dance With Twirling Flags, Sabers and Rifles -- Gainesville

  For girls in grades 6-12. Color guard, or as it is affectionately known, the "sport of the arts," is a multidimensional art/sport that involves dance, spinning and tossing 
flags, rifles, and sabers, and using God-given gifts. With this summer camp you will learn the basics of color guard and also grow closer to Jesus. Throughout this camp you will learn to become confident in yourself while you defy physics. Although rifle and saber will be demonstrated, the main focus will be on flag work. At the end of the week you will be able to perform in front of your friends and family and show off your new skills.

  SHARE's roller skating plan is being held in a new location. All homeschoolers are welcome to participate -- you do not have to be a SHARE member. Grant Showalter will continue to be the DJ, playing contemporary Christian music as always!

The first skate will be held from noon-3 p.m. and will include a mini-book fair. Feel free to bring books to sell! Parents or non-student adults must stay inside the rink. SHARE skate events are neither a babysitting service nor a teen drop-off center.

The cost is $45 per family or $23 per single skater for the entire year (September through May), or $4 per skater per session. The price covers regular four-wheel skates. Homeschool Class on Animal Behavior, Tampa
