Current and former members of the FPEA Board
of Directors humbly express their gratitude to the many volunteers who
have made the ceremonies a reality. The planning and preparation for each
event continues to be a detailed, defined commitment.
As the number of home educators statewide continue
to grow, so does Graduation. In order to keep the main focus on the heart
of the ceremony, the Board has revised and updated the Graduation weekend
activities and schedule.
One major addition will be a senior class charge
and encouragement session led by guest speaker John Stonestreet. Whereas
most traditional commencements feature this charge during the ceremony
itself, the FPEA ceremony has always devoted this time to multimedia introductions
of each graduate. To make time for the addition, the charge and encouragement
session will take place on Friday evening, replacing the talent show.
Convention weekend is packed with great seminars,
workshops and activities, and Graduation is a vital part of that experience.
Those graduating want their family members and friends to share their excitement.
To better serve the graduates and their families in consideration of their
time demands, the dance will be combined with the post-ceremony buffet,
with the buffet taking place before the dance.
The FPEA Board rejoices with those who have chosen
to be a part of Graduation. We will work diligently to assure that Graduation
weekend is an experience the graduates and their families will remember
for years to come.

The FPEA Statewide Graduation Ceremony is a time
to celebrate Florida homeschool graduates as they proudly march down the
aisle, marking a huge milestone in their education. Only FPEA members are
eligible to participate — another great reason to join the FPEA!
A dinner buffet immediately follows the ceremony.
The cost is $27 for adults and $18 for children ages 6-12 (price includes
tax and service charge). Children 5 and under are free!
The Graduation experience is more than the ceremony,
though; it’s a weekend filled with activities for the graduates and their
families, all held while the Convention takes place. For information, e-mail
graduation@fpea.com.
