Speaker Bios and Summaries

Gregg Harris

Gregg Harris is a Christian homeschooling husband and the father of seven "priceless treasures." He now serves as a teaching elder at Household of Faith Community Church in GreshamOre. Gregg's youngest three children continue to

study at home with him and his wife, Sono.

Rick Andreassen

Rick is the founder of the Christian Homeschool Athletic Association (CHAA Saints), a professional physical education program serving Floridahomeschool families from Hollywood to Vero Beach. He works to provide homeschooled children all the benefits of an athletic curriculum under the guidelines of professional instructors.

Adam Andrews

Adam is the director of the Center for Literary Education and a homeschooling father of six. Since 2003, he has traveled throughout the United States and Canada presenting an innovative and accessible method for teaching the crucial skills of literary analysis and interpretation.

Carol Barnier

Carol speaks coast to coast at homeschool conferences and is a frequent radio show guest. She began Open Gifts Ministries when her son — a nonstop ball of energy — didn't fit the mold that worked so well in a traditional classroom setting.

Sally Clarkson

Sally has ministered alongside her husband, Clay, as a writer, speaker and discipler through Whole Heart Ministries. She is, first and foremost, a full-time, stay-at-homeschooling mom; her life revolves around her four whole-hearted children. Sally enjoys the beauty of Colorado and hiking the forest trails around her home.

Dianne Craft

Dianne has 25 years’ experience teaching bright, inquisitive children struggling with learning because of a "glitch" in the processing of information, sometimes referred to as a learning disability. She runs the private consultation practice Child Diagnostics, also teaching parents how to help their struggling learner at home through nutritional interventions.

Phil Downer

Phil is president of Discipleship Network of America (DNA), a nationwide network of people committed to pursuing Christ and

His call to win and disciple others to become disciple makers, flowing out of the lives of people focused on Christ in their work,

marriage, family, neighborhood and church.

Mike Farris

Mike is the cofounder and current board chairman of the Home School Legal Defense Association, and is also a constitutional

lawyer, a leading pro-family activist on Capitol Hill, a published author of 14 books and an ordained minister. He is also the

chancellor at PatrickHenryCollege.

Julie Hiramine

Julie is the founder and executive director of Generations of Virtue, a ministry that equips parents to empower their children to be pure in our culture today. As a noted speaker, author and Christian leader, Julie has encouraged and influenced parents

internationally through her speaking and written materials.

Maggie Hogan

Maggie works on the publishing end of Bright Ideas Press, the family business. She writes for many homeschool publications, serves on her state homeschool board, speaks around the country, eats chocolate, and dreams of having time to read and scrapbook.

Kathy Koch

Kathy is the founder and president of Celebrate Kids, based in Fort WorthTexas. She speaks to educators, students and parents nationally and internationally. Kathy has been a professor, teacher, coach and school board member, and Celebrate Kids provides program services to local school districts through a federal alcohol-reduction grant.

Dari Mullins

Dari is coauthor of Galloping the Globe and Cantering the Country. She and her husband, Allen, live in AshevilleN.C., where Dari teaches co-op classes and stays active with the local homeschool community. Dari serves on the board of the Western Carolina Athletic Association, which provides homeschoolers with organized sports.

Rebecca Ingram Powell

Rebecca is a pastor’s wife, homeschooling mother of three, and a nationally known author and speaker. She is the author of Baby Boot Camp: Basic Training for the First Six Weeks of Motherhood, Wise Up! Experience the Power of Proverbs and Dig Deep: Unearthing the Treasures of Solomon's Proverbs.

Andrew Pudewa

Andrew is the director of the Institute for Excellence in Writing and a homeschooling father of seven. Throughout North America he addresses issues relating to teaching, writing, thinking, spelling and music. His best endorsement is from a young Alaskan boy who called him "the funny man with the wonderful words."

Sherri Seligson

Sherri has always had a love for the ocean and began snorkeling and diving while young. She and her husband, David, have been homeschooling their four children for 11 years. Sherri teaches students the importance of studying God’s creation and equipping them to give an answer for their faith.

R.C. Sproul Jr.

R.C. is a teaching elder at Saint Peter Presbyterian Church in Virginia, and is founder, chairman and teacher of the Highlands

StudyCenter. The center exists to help Christians live more simple, separate and deliberate lives to the glory of God and for the building of His kingdom.

Jennifer Steward

Jennifer is a veteran homeschooling mother of eight, founder of Steward Ship Publishing and author of Everything You Need to Know About Homeschool Unit Studies. She has traveled all over the United States teaching and encouraging parents to develop a true love for learning in themselves and their children.

Gary Weaver

Gary is the FPEA State Chairman and District 4 Director. He has served on the FPEA Board of Directors for five years. He and his wife, Terri, live in Jacksonville, where they have homeschooled their five children since 1989.

Dave Weber

Dave is an internationally recognized speaker with a track record of success. As a sales representative for Motorola, Dave received over 15 outstanding sales awards. In 1987 he started his own speaking and training firm. His high energy and fun entertaining style quickly made him a highly sought after speaker.

Ryan Yamane

Ryan completed an accredited bachelor’s degree in business management in just 14 months of study at a cost of less than $7,000. He currently serves as chief executive office of Global learning Strategies, a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing effective and innovative leadership through distance learning.
