It’s that time of year folks … no, not when we are plugging away at keeping our current New Year’s resolutions. It’s the time of year when many families across the state of Florida are pulling their children out of traditional school half way through the current school year to start homeschooling. Maybe you have a child who has struggled this year in school and isn’t really getting the help they need in their current school environment, or maybe a child who has been dealing with an extended illness and needs more of a structure of home. Regardless of your families reasons, this seems to be the time of the year when we see an influx of this “coming home” happening.
There probably isn’t much of a difference in the excitement, or even possibly the anxiety, of bringing your child home mid-year then when you do it from the beginning of the school year. Well I’m here to tell you … RELAX, take a deep breath, and get ready to jump into something that can truly be an amazing adventure and blessing to your family.
You’re in the right place, because many of the resources that you will need are at your fingertips, right here on the FPEA website. The FPEA exists solely to serve homeschooling families in Florida. We serve thousands of homeschooling families in Florida by delivering a wealth of support, guidance and information to both new and longtime home educators.
Right on the home page you will find “Starting Point” and “The Guide to Homeschooling” where you can find all your legal requirements to begin homeschooling. Don’t forget to check out all the resource tabs at the top of the page for a wealth of additional information that will help support and encourage you. In the “About Homeschooling” section, you will also find some wonderful FREE downloads to help get you started organizing your homeschool. When you’re ready to start making connections with other homeschoolers in your area by finding some support, we have that information as well.
So as they say … relax and enjoy the journey. We are here to support you along the way.
