We are so excited about the new things available at the 2012 FPEA Homeschool Convention! In the event that you may not have seen all of the details for any of these events, we wanted to offer a quick re-cap. We don’t want you to miss a thing.
Start your Convention Experience with an afternoon at the Arabian Night’s Show!
This year FPEA has arranged an afternoon of education and entertainment at the Arabian Nights. On Wednesday May 23rd the fun begins at 4pm- 6pm with an educational event highlighting the inner workings of caring and training of the horses. The dinner show, The American Princess begins at 6pm and includes an amazing array of dinner choices. This event is open to all homeschool families and friends. Cost is $35 per person and includes your tip. The deadline to purchase your tickets is May 1 or when all the tickets have been sold. We have a limited number of tickets. Be sure to buy your tickets early! You do not have to register for convention to attend this show. You must, however, register and purchase your tickets in advance. There are no tickets sold at the door.
Attention all young business owners! We are looking for homeschool students with businesses to showcase their talent at the FPEA Florida Homeschool Convention. This is your chance to share your business while learning new things to grow your business.
Florida Parent Educators Association (FPEA) developed Budding Entrepreneurial Showcase of Talent (BEST) to equip and support young entrepreneurs and artists with practical tools and encouragement through hands-on workshops, interactive presentations, mentorships, and real-life marketing or showcase opportunities at regional venues as well as a culminating state convention.
The FPEA is offering an Entrepreneurial Track on Thursday (9am-5:30pm). Nathan Jarewicz, owner of Real World Prep, and his team will teach youth interested in starting or building their own businesses. The cost to attend this event will be $25 and will include lunch. The deadline to sign up is May 1. Convention registration is required to register for the Entrepreneurial Track.
Intended Audience: This program would be most beneficial to students ages 12 and older. Adults are welcome to attend as well. However, all children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Both parent and child must register for this event.
SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIAL: LIVING HISTORY HUNT

Have you ever wanted to jump into the action on a board game or be a part of an exciting movie? Then Saturday night is just for you! You can attend a real “Night at the Museum” in the Gaylord Palms atrium right after the official end of the Convention.
Grandparents can be supportive and encouraging in the home education of their grandchildren —physically, spiritually and emotionally. Hear Bob and Tina Farewell’s insights on true education, special gift-giving ideas, grandchildren’s participation in your lives, and more. This can be the greatest phase in your life . . . and that of your grandchildren’s lives! Refreshments will be served, so come, relax and enjoy this delightful workshop!
